Ingredients

  • 4 cups of apples, peeled and sliced
  • 2 cups of blackberries
  • 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 1 package of ready-made pie crust
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the apples, blackberries, sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt, and lemon juice. Toss until the fruit is evenly coated.
  3. Roll out one pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie dish. Trim any excess dough from the edges.
  4. Pour the fruit mixture into the pie crust.
  5. Roll out the second pie crust and place it over the fruit filling. Trim and crimp the edges to seal the pie.
  6. Brush the top crust with the beaten egg to create a golden finish.
  7. Make several small slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbling.
  9. Allow the pie to cool for at least 30 minutes before serving.
