Ingredients
- 1 lb salted cod, soaked and flaked
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup chopped parsley
- 1/2 cup chopped scallions
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp hot pepper sauce
- 1/2 cup water

Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flaked salted cod, flour, onion, garlic, parsley, scallions, baking powder, black pepper, and hot pepper sauce.
- Add water gradually and mix until a thick batter forms.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat.
- Scoop spoonfuls of the batter and carefully drop them into the hot oil.
- Fry the fish cakes until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove the fish cakes from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with your favorite hot sauce or dipping sauce.
