Acehnese Spicy Beef Skewers

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs beef sirloin, cut into cubes
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 red chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Wooden skewers, soaked in water

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the chopped onion, minced garlic, chopped red chilies, ground turmeric, ground coriander, ground cumin, soy sauce, vegetable oil, and salt.
  2. Add the beef cubes to the marinade and mix until the beef is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  3. Thread the marinated beef cubes onto the soaked wooden skewers.
  4. Heat a grill or stovetop grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook the skewers for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the beef is cooked to your desired doneness.
  5. Remove the skewers from the heat and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
