Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
- 1 cup mixed fresh herbs (such as cilantro, parsley, and dill), finely chopped
- 1 cup feta cheese, crumbled
- 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 egg, beaten
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, and sugar. In a separate small bowl, mix the warm water and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Pour the yeast mixture into the flour and knead until a smooth dough forms. Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel and let the dough rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a separate bowl, mix the chopped herbs, feta cheese, and mozzarella cheese.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal parts. Roll out each piece into a circle and place a portion of the cheese and herb mixture in the center. Fold the edges of the dough over the filling, creating a boat shape.
- Brush the edges of the dough with beaten egg and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown.
