Agra Ka Bedai (आगरा का बेड़ई)
आगरा का बेड़ई (Agra Ka Bedai) is a popular breakfast dish from the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is a spicy and flavorful dish that is enjoyed with chutney or aloo sabzi.
Ingredients
- 500g wheat flour
- 100g urad dal
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 2 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 1 tsp fennel seeds
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp asafoetida
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Soak the urad dal in water for 4-5 hours, then grind it to a coarse paste.
- In a bowl, mix the wheat flour, urad dal paste, onions, green chilies, ginger, fennel seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Knead the mixture into a stiff dough.
- Divide the dough into small balls and roll them out into small puris.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry the puris until they are golden brown and crispy.
