Agra Ka Petha Rabri is a traditional dessert from the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. This rich and creamy sweet dish is made by combining the famous Agra Petha with thickened sweetened milk, flavored with cardamom and saffron.
Ingredients
- 500g Agra Petha, thinly sliced
- 1 liter full-fat milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
- A pinch of saffron strands
Instructions
- In a heavy-bottomed pan, bring the milk to a boil.
- Simmer the milk on low heat, stirring occasionally, until it reduces to half its original quantity.
- Add sugar, cardamom powder, and saffron strands to the thickened milk and mix well.
- Add the thinly sliced Agra Petha to the milk mixture and cook for another 10 minutes, stirring gently.
- Remove from heat and let it cool to room temperature.
- Refrigerate the Agra Ka Petha Rabri for at least 2 hours before serving.
