Ingredients
- 3 lbs walrus blubber
- 1/4 cup sea salt
- 2 tbsp ground black pepper
Instructions
- Trim any excess skin or membrane from the walrus blubber.
- Cut the blubber into thin slices, about 1/4 inch thick.
- In a large bowl, mix the sea salt and ground black pepper.
- Coat each slice of blubber with the salt and pepper mixture.
- Place the coated blubber slices in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Cook for 1-2 hours, flipping occasionally, until the blubber turns crispy and golden brown.
- Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- Serve the aiviq bacon hot and crispy.
