Alaró Almond Cake
This Alaró Almond Cake is a traditional dessert from the Balearic Islands, known for its rich almond flavor and moist texture.
Ingredients
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup sliced almonds
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a large bowl, mix the almond flour, sugar, and salt.
- Add the almond extract and eggs, and mix until smooth.
- Gently fold in the melted butter until fully incorporated.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and sprinkle the sliced almonds on top.
- Bake for 40 minutes, or until the cake is golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
