Albanian Meatballs (Qofte të Fërguara)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the meatballs in batches until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 10-12 minutes.
  4. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
  5. Serve the Qofte të Fërguara hot with your favorite side dishes.
