Ingredients
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup semolina
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh coriander leaves
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- Water for kneading
- Oil for deep frying
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, semolina, chopped coriander leaves, chopped onion, green chilies, cumin seeds, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt.
- Add water gradually and knead the mixture into a stiff dough.
- Divide the dough into small lemon-sized balls and roll them out into small puris (round discs).
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- Deep fry the puris until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the puris from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
- Serve the masala puris hot with a side of spicy potato curry or chutney.
