Almond Tart (tarta De Almendras)
Almond Tart, or Tarta de Almendras, is a traditional dessert from the Extremaduran cuisine, known for its rich and nutty flavor. This delicious tart is perfect for any occasion and is sure to impress your guests.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups almond flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
- 1/4 cup apricot preserves
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch tart pan.
- In a bowl, mix the almond flour, sugar, and salt. Add the melted butter and stir until combined.
- Press the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of the tart pan to form the crust.
- Bake the crust for 10-12 minutes, or until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly.
- In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and almond extract. Pour the mixture into the cooled crust.
- Sprinkle the sliced almonds on top of the filling.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and the almonds are golden.
- Heat the apricot preserves in a small saucepan over low heat. Brush the warm preserves over the top of the tart.
- Let the tart cool completely before serving.
