Ingredients
- 3 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1 cup green peas
- 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3-4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- 2 green chilies, slit
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons oil
- Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add the minced garlic, grated ginger, and green chilies. Sauté for a few minutes until the raw aroma disappears.
- Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft and the oil separates.
- Stir in the turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook for a minute.
- Add the cubed potatoes and green peas. Mix well to coat the vegetables with the spices.
- Pour in 2 cups of water and bring the curry to a gentle simmer. Cover and cook until the potatoes are tender.
- Sprinkle garam masala and garnish with fresh cilantro leaves before serving.
