Ingredients

  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 2 green chilies, chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Stir in minced garlic, grated ginger, and green chilies. Cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric, ground coriander, ground cumin, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and oil starts to separate.
  5. Add cubed potatoes and 1 cup of water. Cover and cook until the potatoes are tender.
  6. Add frozen peas and garam masala. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan.
