Ingredients
- 4 large potatoes, boiled and mashed
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 12 store-bought or homemade pie crusts
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a pan, heat some oil and add the cumin seeds. Once they start to sizzle, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onions are soft.
- Add the mashed potatoes, turmeric, garam masala, and salt to the pan. Mix well to combine all the ingredients and cook for a few minutes. Remove from heat and let the filling cool.
- Roll out the pie crusts and place a spoonful of the potato filling in the center of each crust. Fold the crust over the filling to form a half-moon shape and seal the edges with a fork.
- Heat oil in a deep pan and carefully place the Aloo Pies in the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy on both sides.
- Remove the Aloo Pies from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain any excess oil.
