Aloo Tikki (potato Cutlets)

Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons cornflour
  • Oil for shallow frying

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, chopped onion, green chilies, ginger paste, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
  2. Add cornflour to the mixture and mix until well combined.
  3. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into round, flat cutlets.
  4. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Shallow fry the cutlets until they are golden brown and crispy on both sides.
  5. Remove the cutlets from the pan and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  6. Serve the Aloo Tikki hot with chutney or ketchup.
