Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 4 tortillas or roti
  • 4 tbsp tamarind chutney
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/2 cup chopped cilantro

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the mashed potatoes, onion, green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt.
  2. Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape them into round patties.
  3. Roll the patties in bread crumbs and shallow fry in a pan until golden brown on both sides.
  4. Warm the tortillas or roti on a griddle.
  5. Spread 1 tbsp of tamarind chutney on each tortilla or roti.
  6. Place a potato patty in the center of each tortilla or roti.
  7. Top with shredded cabbage, carrots, and chopped cilantro.
  8. Roll up the tortillas or roti and serve hot.
