Amber Ale Braised Pork Ribs (Pomeranian Żeberka wieprzowe duszone w piwie bursztynowym)

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs pork ribs
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 bottle (12 oz) amber ale
  • 2 cups beef or chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp whole grain mustard
  • 2 bay leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large Dutch oven, heat some oil over medium-high heat. Season the pork ribs with salt and pepper, then sear them in the hot oil until browned on all sides. Remove the ribs and set aside.
  2. Lower the heat to medium and add the chopped onion to the Dutch oven. Cook until the onion is soft and translucent, then add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. Pour in the amber ale and broth, then add the honey, mustard, and bay leaves. Stir to combine, then return the ribs to the pot.
  4. Bring the liquid to a simmer, then cover the Dutch oven and reduce the heat to low. Let the ribs braise for about 2 hours, or until the meat is tender and falling off the bone.
  5. Once the ribs are done, remove them from the pot and keep warm. Strain the braising liquid and return it to the pot. Simmer the liquid over medium heat until it reduces and thickens into a flavorful sauce.
  6. Serve the braised pork ribs with the reduced sauce, and enjoy with your favorite side dishes.
