Amritsari Fish Fry

Ingredients

  • 500g boneless fish fillets
  • 1 cup chickpea flour
  • 2 tbsp rice flour
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp carom seeds
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix chickpea flour, rice flour, ginger-garlic paste, carom seeds, red chili powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, yogurt, lemon juice, and salt to form a thick batter.
  2. Marinate the fish fillets in this batter for 30 minutes.
  3. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  4. Fry the marinated fish fillets until golden brown and crispy on both sides.
  5. Remove from the pan and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  6. Serve hot with mint chutney or lemon wedges.
