Andorran Cherry Clafoutis (Clafoutis de Cireres Andorrà)

Ingredients

  • 500g fresh cherries, pitted
  • 4 eggs
  • 100g granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 120g all-purpose flour
  • 300ml milk
  • Butter, for greasing the baking dish
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Grease a 9-inch round baking dish with butter.
  3. Arrange the pitted cherries in a single layer in the baking dish.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the flour and milk to the egg mixture, whisking until smooth.
  6. Pour the batter over the cherries in the baking dish.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the clafoutis is set and golden brown on top.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
  9. Dust the clafoutis with powdered sugar before serving.
