Ingredients
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add the cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
- Add the chopped onion, garlic, and ginger. Sauté until the onion is soft and translucent.
- Add the turmeric, cayenne pepper, and garam masala. Stir well to combine.
- Add the cubed potatoes and salt. Stir to coat the potatoes with the spices.
- Pour in the water and bring to a simmer. Cover and cook for 20-25 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot.
