Ingredients
- 4 large apples, peeled and sliced
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix the sliced apples, 1/2 cup of sugar, cinnamon, salt, and lemon juice. Set aside.
- Melt the butter and mix it with the flour, 1/2 cup of sugar, baking powder, salt, egg, and vanilla extract to form the dough.
- Press half of the dough into the bottom of a greased 9-inch pie dish.
- Spread the apple mixture over the dough in the pie dish.
- Crumble the remaining dough over the apple mixture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
- Let it cool before serving.
