Apple Pie (plăcintă Cu Mere)

Ingredients

  • 6 cups of peeled and sliced apples
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
  • 1 recipe pastry for a 9-inch double-crust pie

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and flour until the apples are evenly coated.
  3. Roll out half of the pastry and line a 9-inch pie dish with it. Pour the apple filling into the pastry-lined dish.
  4. Roll out the remaining pastry and place it over the filling. Seal and flute the edges, then make several small slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  5. Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  6. Allow the pie to cool before serving. Enjoy!
