Applesauce Brownies

Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch square baking pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate large bowl, mix together the applesauce, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Cut into squares and serve.
