Apricot Dumplings (Marillenknödel)

Ingredients

  • 6 fresh apricots
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Pit the apricots and fill the cavity with sugar.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with melted butter and cinnamon.
  3. Form the dough into a ball and wrap each apricot with the dough, making sure it is completely covered.
  4. Boil the dumplings in a large pot of water for about 10-12 minutes.
  5. Remove the dumplings from the water and roll them in the breadcrumb mixture.
  6. Serve the Marillenknödel warm and enjoy!
