Arawa (island Style Bbq Ribs)
Arawa (Island Style BBQ Ribs) is a traditional dish from the Solomon Islands, featuring tender and flavorful ribs with a delicious island-style BBQ sauce.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs pork ribs
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Place the ribs in a large roasting pan.
- In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, ketchup, garlic, ginger, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- Pour the sauce over the ribs, making sure they are evenly coated.
- Cover the pan with foil and bake for 1.5 hours.
- Remove the foil and increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C).
- Baste the ribs with the sauce from the pan and bake for an additional 30 minutes, or until the ribs are caramelized and tender.
