Nieriäkakut, or Arctic Char Cakes, are a traditional dish from the Sami people of the Arctic region. These delicious fish cakes are a popular choice for a hearty and flavorful meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb Arctic char, skinless and boneless
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh dill
- 1/4 cup chopped red onion
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- In a large bowl, flake the Arctic char with a fork.
- Add breadcrumbs, dill, red onion, egg, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into 8 patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve the Arctic char cakes hot with your favorite side dishes.
