Ingredients

  • 2 cups pre-cooked cornmeal
  • 2 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the pre-cooked cornmeal, warm water, and salt until a dough forms.
  2. Divide the dough into 6 equal parts and shape them into thick discs.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat.
  4. Cook the arepas for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels.
