Arisha (Deep-fried Rice Flour Sweet)
Arisha is a traditional sweet dish from Odia Cuisine, made with rice flour and jaggery. It is a popular dessert during festivals and special occasions.
Ingredients
- 2 cups rice flour
- 1 cup jaggery, grated
- 1/2 cup water
- Oil for deep-frying
Instructions
- In a pan, heat water and add grated jaggery. Stir until the jaggery melts and forms a syrup. Remove from heat and let it cool.
- In a large bowl, mix the rice flour with the jaggery syrup to form a smooth dough.
- Divide the dough into small portions and shape them into small round balls or any desired shape.
- Heat oil in a deep pan for deep-frying.
- Once the oil is hot, carefully drop the shaped dough balls into the oil and fry until they turn golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the fried arisha from the oil and drain excess oil on a paper towel.
- Arisha is ready to be served. Enjoy the crispy and sweet deep-fried delight!
