Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs lamb, cut into chunks
  • 1 cup dried chickpeas, soaked overnight
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 1/2 cup red wine
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the lamb chunks and brown them on all sides.
  2. Add the chopped onions and minced garlic to the pot. Cook until the onions are soft and translucent.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, red wine, red wine vinegar, dried oregano, ground cinnamon, salt, and pepper.
  4. Drain the soaked chickpeas and add them to the pot.
