Ingredients
- 1 cup of white rice
- 4 cups of whole milk
- 1 can (14 oz) of sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1/2 cup of raisins (optional)
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- Ground cinnamon for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pot, combine the rice, whole milk, and cinnamon stick. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring frequently to prevent the rice from sticking to the bottom of the pot.
- Reduce the heat to low and simmer the rice mixture for 20-25 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the mixture has thickened, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in the sweetened condensed milk, raisins (if using), and vanilla extract. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Remove the pot from the heat and let the rice pudding cool for a few minutes. Remove the cinnamon stick.
- Transfer the rice pudding to serving dishes and sprinkle with ground cinnamon. Serve warm or chilled.
