Arroz Frito Estilo Sichuan, or Szechuan Style Fried Rice, is a popular dish in Latin American Chinese cuisine. It combines the flavors of traditional Chinese fried rice with Latin American ingredients and spices, resulting in a delicious and unique fusion dish.
Ingredients
- 3 cups cooked white rice
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup diced red bell pepper
- 1/2 cup diced green bell pepper
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Szechuan peppercorns
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 cup frozen peas
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the diced bell peppers, onion, garlic, and Szechuan peppercorns to the skillet. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender.
- Push the vegetables to one side of the skillet and add the cooked rice to the empty side. Stir-fry the rice for 2-3 minutes to heat it through.
- Drizzle the soy sauce and sesame oil over the rice. Add the frozen peas and continue stir-frying for another 2-3 minutes.
- Season the fried rice with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat and serve hot.
