Asam Pade (tamarind Soup With Beef)
Asam Pade is a traditional Batak cuisine dish that features a flavorful tamarind soup with tender beef, creating a perfect balance of sour and savory flavors.
Ingredients
- 500g beef, thinly sliced
- 2 cups tamarind juice
- 4 cups water
- 3 tomatoes, chopped
- 2 onions, thinly sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 red chilies, sliced
- 1 lemongrass stalk, bruised
- 2 bay leaves
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring the water and tamarind juice to a boil.
- Add the beef, onions, garlic, tomatoes, chilies, lemongrass, and bay leaves. Simmer for 1.5 hours or until the beef is tender.
- Season with salt to taste.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
