Ingredients

  • 500g beef, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups tamarind juice
  • 4 cups water
  • 3 tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 onions, thinly sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 red chilies, sliced
  • 1 lemongrass stalk, bruised
  • 2 bay leaves
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, bring the water and tamarind juice to a boil.
  2. Add the beef, onions, garlic, tomatoes, chilies, lemongrass, and bay leaves. Simmer for 1.5 hours or until the beef is tender.
  3. Season with salt to taste.
  4. Serve hot and enjoy!
