Ingredients

  • 500g ground lamb or beef
  • 2 large onions, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 500g puff pastry dough

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the ground meat, onions, salt, pepper, cumin, and paprika until well combined.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the meat mixture and cook until the meat is browned and the onions are soft, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  3. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  4. Roll out the puff pastry dough and cut it into 12 equal squares.
  5. Place a spoonful of the meat mixture in the center of each pastry square. Fold the dough over the filling to form a triangle and crimp the edges with a fork to seal.
  6. Place the samsas on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven and let the samsas cool for a few minutes before serving.
