Ingredients
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 cup chopped almonds
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a large pan, combine the sugar and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar is dissolved.
- Add the chopped walnuts and almonds to the pan. Stir well to coat the nuts with the sugar syrup.
- Continue cooking the mixture, stirring frequently, until the nuts are golden and the syrup has thickened, about 15-20 minutes.
- Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the cardamom, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
- Transfer the nut mixture to a greased baking sheet and spread it out in an even layer. Allow it to cool completely.
- Once cooled, break the nut mixture into bite-sized pieces and serve.
