Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup chopped almonds
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large pan, combine the sugar and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Add the chopped walnuts and almonds to the pan. Stir well to coat the nuts with the sugar syrup.
  3. Continue cooking the mixture, stirring frequently, until the nuts are golden and the syrup has thickened, about 15-20 minutes.
  4. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the cardamom, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
  5. Transfer the nut mixture to a greased baking sheet and spread it out in an even layer. Allow it to cool completely.
  6. Once cooled, break the nut mixture into bite-sized pieces and serve.
