Axone Wala Murgi Curry (naga Style Smoked Chicken Curry)

Ingredients

  • 500g smoked chicken, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup axone (fermented soybean)
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, pureed
  • 2 green chilies, slit
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  • 2 tbsp mustard oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat mustard oil in a pan and add the chopped onions. Sauté until golden brown.
  2. Add the ginger-garlic paste and slit green chilies. Cook for 2 minutes.
  3. Add the tomato puree, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and black pepper powder. Cook until the oil separates.
  4. Add the smoked chicken pieces and axone. Mix well and cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Pour in 2 cups of water, cover the pan, and let the curry simmer for 20-25 minutes until the chicken is tender.
  6. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice.
