Axone Wala Murgi (naga Style Smoked Chicken With Bamboo Shoots)
Axone Wala Murgi is a traditional Naga dish that features tender smoked chicken cooked with bamboo shoots, giving it a unique and flavorful taste.
Ingredients
- 500g chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 cup bamboo shoots, sliced
- 2 tbsp axone (fermented soybean)
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- 2-3 green chilies, slit
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp mustard oil
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken pieces with turmeric powder and salt. Set aside for 15 minutes.
- Heat mustard oil in a pan and add the axone. Sauté for a minute.
- Add the chopped onions, garlic, ginger, and green chilies. Cook until the onions are translucent.
- Now, add the marinated chicken and cook until it turns golden brown.
- Stir in the sliced bamboo shoots and chopped tomatoes. Cook for another 5 minutes.
- Add red chili powder and salt to taste. Mix well.
- Cover and cook on low heat for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
