Ingredients
- 500g plums, pitted and halved
- 200g all-purpose flour
- 100g granulated sugar
- 100g unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 100g ground almonds
- 2 tbsp almond extract
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup almond flakes
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, ground almonds, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the cold butter to the dry ingredients and rub together with your fingertips until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
- Press two-thirds of the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a greased 9-inch tart pan.
- Arrange the plum halves over the crust, skin side down.
- Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture over the plums, then top with almond flakes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 40-45 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the plums are tender.
- Allow the tart to cool before dusting with powdered sugar and serving.
