Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) firm white fish fillets, cut into chunks
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons ginger paste
- 2 teaspoons garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 onion, cut into chunks
- 1 bell pepper, cut into chunks
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the yogurt, lemon juice, ginger paste, garlic paste, ground cumin, ground coriander, turmeric, cayenne pepper, and salt.
- Add the fish chunks to the marinade and coat them well. Let the fish marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Thread the marinated fish chunks onto skewers, alternating with chunks of onion and bell pepper.
- Brush the fish and vegetables with vegetable oil and grill for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the fish is cooked through and the vegetables are tender and slightly charred.
- Serve the Bahraini Fish Tikka hot with rice or flatbread.
