Bahraini Fish Tikka

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) firm white fish fillets, cut into chunks
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons ginger paste
  • 2 teaspoons garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, cut into chunks
  • 1 bell pepper, cut into chunks

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the yogurt, lemon juice, ginger paste, garlic paste, ground cumin, ground coriander, turmeric, cayenne pepper, and salt.
  2. Add the fish chunks to the marinade and coat them well. Let the fish marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Thread the marinated fish chunks onto skewers, alternating with chunks of onion and bell pepper.
  4. Brush the fish and vegetables with vegetable oil and grill for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the fish is cooked through and the vegetables are tender and slightly charred.
