Bahraini Lamb Kofta With Mint Yogurt Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp fresh mint, chopped
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the ground lamb, onion, garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Form the mixture into small oval-shaped meatballs.
  2. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and cook the lamb kofta for 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through.
  3. While the kofta is cooking, prepare the mint yogurt sauce by mixing together the yogurt, mint, lemon juice, honey, and cayenne pepper in a small bowl.
