Ingredients
- 1 head of cabbage
- 1 pound ground lamb
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 1 cup beef or vegetable broth
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully remove the cabbage leaves and blanch them in the boiling water for 2-3 minutes. Remove and set aside to cool.
- In a bowl, mix the ground lamb, cooked rice, onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, salt, and pepper.
- Place a spoonful of the lamb mixture onto each cabbage leaf and roll it up, tucking in the sides as you go.
- Place the cabbage rolls in a large pot. Pour the tomato sauce and broth over the rolls. Cover and simmer for 1 hour.
- Serve the stuffed cabbage rolls with rice and lamb hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
