Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup wheat starch
  • 1/2 cup tapioca starch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 green onion, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, pulse the shrimp until finely chopped.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the wheat starch, tapioca starch, and water to form a dough.
  3. Divide the dough into small balls and roll each ball into a thin, translucent wrapper.
  4. Place a spoonful of the chopped shrimp filling in the center of each wrapper.
  5. Fold the wrapper over the filling and pleat the edges to seal the dumpling.
  6. Steam the dumplings for 8-10 minutes until the filling is cooked through and the wrapper turns translucent.
