Bak Kut Teh Bliss

Ingredients

  • 1 kg pork ribs
  • 10 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon white pepper
  • 2 tablespoons dried shiitake mushrooms
  • 10 pieces dried red dates
  • 2 liters water

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, blanch the pork ribs in boiling water for 5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat some oil in the pot and sauté the crushed garlic until fragrant.
  3. Add the blanched pork ribs, soy sauce, oyster sauce, dark soy sauce, and white pepper. Stir well to coat the ribs.
  4. Add the dried shiitake mushrooms, dried red dates, and water to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1.5 hours, or until the pork is tender.
  5. Season with salt to taste and serve hot.
