Bak Kut Teh Bonanza

Ingredients

  • 1 kg pork ribs
  • 10 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons white peppercorns
  • 4-5 dried shiitake mushrooms
  • 6-8 dried red dates
  • 2 liters water
  • 2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons light soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Blanch the pork ribs in boiling water for 5 minutes, then rinse under cold water.
  2. In a large pot, combine the blanched pork ribs, garlic, white peppercorns, shiitake mushrooms, red dates, and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1.5 hours.
  3. Add the dark soy sauce, light soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Simmer for another 30 minutes.
  4. Season with salt to taste before serving.
