Bak Kut Teh Bonanza
Bak Kut Teh is a popular Singaporean pork rib soup infused with a blend of aromatic herbs and spices. This recipe will guide you through creating a flavorful and comforting Bak Kut Teh Bonanza!
Ingredients
- 1 kg pork ribs
- 10 cloves garlic, crushed
- 2 tablespoons white peppercorns
- 4-5 dried shiitake mushrooms
- 6-8 dried red dates
- 2 liters water
- 2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons light soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt, to taste
Instructions
- Blanch the pork ribs in boiling water for 5 minutes, then rinse under cold water.
- In a large pot, combine the blanched pork ribs, garlic, white peppercorns, shiitake mushrooms, red dates, and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1.5 hours.
- Add the dark soy sauce, light soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Simmer for another 30 minutes.
- Season with salt to taste before serving.
