Baked Trout with Herbs (Trofta e Furrë me Erbëra)
Trofta e Furrë me Erbëra, or Baked Trout with Herbs, is a traditional dish from Kosovan cuisine that is bursting with flavor. This recipe combines the delicate taste of trout with aromatic herbs for a delicious and healthy meal.
Ingredients
- 4 whole trout, cleaned and gutted
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the trout on a baking sheet and stuff the cavity of each fish with lemon slices and minced garlic.
- In a small bowl, mix together the chopped parsley, dill, and olive oil. Season with salt and pepper.
- Brush the herb mixture over the trout, covering both the inside and outside of the fish.
- Bake the trout in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the flesh is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
