Ingredients
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 cup gram flour
- 1 cup chopped roasted eggplant
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon carom seeds
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/4 cup ghee
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together whole wheat flour, gram flour, carom seeds, 1/4 cup ghee, and salt. Gradually add water and knead the mixture into a firm dough. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the roasted eggplant, onion, green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt to make the filling.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Divide the dough into small balls and flatten them into discs. Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each disc and seal the edges to form dumplings.
- Place the dumplings on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
- Serve the baked wheat dumplings with roasted eggplant hot with a side of chokha (roasted eggplant mash) and enjoy!
