Baklava De Pistacho Y Miel (pistachio And Honey Baklava)
Baklava de Pistacho y Miel, or Pistachio and Honey Baklava, is a delicious and iconic dessert from Andalusian cuisine. This sweet and flaky pastry is made with layers of phyllo dough, filled with pistachios, and sweetened with honey syrup.
Ingredients
- 1 package of phyllo dough
- 2 cups of shelled pistachios
- 1 cup of unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- 1 cup of water
- 1/2 cup of honey
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Pulse the pistachios in a food processor until finely chopped.
- Brush a 9x13 inch baking dish with melted butter.
- Layer 10 sheets of phyllo dough in the baking dish, brushing each sheet with melted butter.
- Sprinkle a layer of chopped pistachios over the phyllo dough.
- Repeat the layering process with 5 sheets of phyllo dough and pistachios, brushing each sheet with melted butter.
- Cut the baklava into diamond or square shapes using a sharp knife.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until golden brown.
- While the baklava is baking, combine the sugar, water, honey, and vanilla extract in a saucepan.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 15 minutes to make the syrup.
- Once the baklava is done, remove it from the oven and immediately pour the hot syrup over the hot baklava.
- Allow the baklava to cool completely before serving.
