Ingredients
- 500g minced chicken
- 100g grated coconut
- 2 shallots, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp shrimp paste
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp palm sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- Bamboo skewers
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the minced chicken, grated coconut, shallots, garlic, shrimp paste, coriander, cumin, turmeric, palm sugar, and salt until well combined.
- Take a small amount of the mixture and wrap it around a bamboo skewer, forming a sausage-like shape. Repeat with the remaining mixture.
- Grill the skewers on a stovetop grill or in a grill pan over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and slightly charred.
- Serve the Balinese Satay hot with steamed rice and a side of sambal matah for an authentic experience.
