Balinese Satay Adventure (sate Lilit Adventure)

Ingredients

  • 500g minced chicken
  • 100g grated coconut
  • 2 shallots, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp shrimp paste
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp palm sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Bamboo skewers

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the minced chicken, grated coconut, shallots, garlic, shrimp paste, coriander, cumin, turmeric, palm sugar, and salt until well combined.
  2. Take a small amount of the mixture and wrap it around a bamboo skewer, forming a sausage-like shape. Repeat with the remaining mixture.
  3. Grill the skewers on a stovetop grill or in a grill pan over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and slightly charred.
  4. Serve the Balinese Satay hot with steamed rice and a side of sambal matah for an authentic experience.
