Ingredients
- 2 cans of tuna, drained
- 6 shallots
- 4 cloves of garlic
- 6 red chili peppers
- 2 tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons of tamarind paste
- 2 tablespoons of palm sugar
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 2 tablespoons of cooking oil
Instructions
- Grind the shallots, garlic, and red chili peppers into a paste using a mortar and pestle or a food processor.
- Heat the cooking oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add the ground paste to the pan and sauté until fragrant.
- Add the drained tuna to the pan and stir well to combine with the spice paste.
- Add the tamarind paste, palm sugar, and salt to the pan. Stir and cook for another 5-7 minutes.
- Add the diced tomatoes to the pan and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and serve the Balinese Spicy Tuna Sambal hot with steamed rice.
