Ingredients

  • 1 block of firm tofu, sliced

  • 2 red chilies, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon shrimp paste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 kaffir lime leaves, thinly sliced
  • 4 banana leaves, cut into 8x8 inch squares

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the shallots, garlic, red chilies, shrimp paste, turmeric powder, salt, and kaffir lime leaves.
  2. Place a spoonful of the spice mixture on a banana leaf, then add a slice of tofu on top.
  3. Wrap the banana leaf to enclose the tofu and secure with toothpicks.
  4. Steam the wrapped tofu for 30 minutes.
