Ingredients

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 red chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp shrimp paste (or miso paste for vegan option)
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 4 kaffir lime leaves, thinly sliced
  • 4 banana leaves, cut into 8x8 inch squares

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the shredded cabbage, chopped green beans, sliced carrots, chopped spinach, grated coconut, shallots, garlic, red chilies, shrimp paste, turmeric powder, salt, sugar, and kaffir lime leaves.
  2. Place a portion of the vegetable mixture onto each banana leaf square and wrap into a neat parcel.
  3. Steam the parcels over medium heat for 25 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
  4. Unwrap the banana leaves before serving.
